A bit about me...
I’m the VP of Platforms, Research & Development at Boston Globe Media and have previously served as GM of Boston.com, The Boston Globe Media’s first Audience Engagement Director, and Head of New Initiatives. I created and teach the course Audience Engagement: Journalism in the Age of Google, Facebook, Twitter, and Apple. I was a member of the 80th class of Nieman Fellows at Harvard University, where I studied the potential content ecosystem, security and privacy impacts of AI on news, media, and publishing, —years before it was cool.

Boston.com Reinvention & Leadership 📈
In 2019 I joined the Globe's Boston.com team as General Manager to lead an evolution of the site.
By 2021 we had an entirely new Boston.com site, new brand, growing reader base, and a quickly expanding diversified set of non-advertising revenue streams.
Boston.com's Alexa ranking increased from 5700 to 2212.
During this time we launched a number of new initiatives including a peer-to-peer donation tool to help with COVID-19 relief as well as a series of community-focused interactive Boston.com Clubs.

Election Data Product 🗳
With the help of Google News Initiative funding I led the development of a first of it's kind AI-powered Presidential candidate dashboard.
This unique tool tracked candidate events, speeches, voting history, and more, creating an experince where users could easily identify key information and insights about the candidates.

#FactsMatter ✔️
In the midst of widespread attacks on the free press in 2016/2017 I created #FactsMatter, a campaign to highlight the important work media does everyday to ensure the public has access to fact-based news coverage.
Stickers started showing up everywhere across the city, our readers ordered merchandise, and #FactsMatter quickly turned into a rallying cry in support of a free and vibrant press.

New Verticals 💨
In 2018 I launched a new vertical dedicated to the coverage of marijuana legalization. As a team we built a business of thousands of paying subscribers, and nearly 100k newsletter readers.
